Hope I Don’t Intrude

A Victorian clear paste Tassie seal.

The image of a gentleman in a top hat with umbrella under arm with text ‘I Hope I Don’t Intrude’.
This seal depicts Paul Pry of the eponymous theatrical farce of 1825 by Playwright John Poole. Paul Pry was an interfering busy body who conveniently leaves behind his umbrella so he has an excuse to return and eavesdrop.

This would look fantastic given the mother of pearl doublet treatment. If you would like to do this please go ahead and check out leaving us a note with the order. There will be an additional fee of £60 for this, invoiced separately.

Rounded rectangle, north/south orientation.
18 x 15 x 4 mm.
Excellent antique condition.

All seals are sold as seen.
If you elect a silver setting lead times are 8-10 weeks.
Worldwide shipping is included in the price but customs duties and/or import taxes are the client’s responsibility.
