Although Emma is by no means precious, she does reserve the best-of-the-best for bespoke orders. These beauties are found in Pica Pica, which is the Latin name for the Eurasian magpie.
We’re terribly proud of our bespoke service, which uses what we believe to be the optimal blend of traditional artisan skills and modern design techniques to achieve unique pieces of exceptional quality.
Every piece we make is hand-crafted in Birmingham’s historic Jewellery Quarter by our expert team of experienced lapidaries, engravers, goldsmiths, setters and polishers, to showcase the true beauty and historical charm of the seal. All of our pieces are fully hallmarked by Birmingham Assay Office and include our Bauble Magpie unique maker’s mark plus any limited edition hallmark available at the point of assay..
To finalise your dream design, we work with you over a defined and mutually agreed time period – we usually recommend two weeks. We encourage a collegiate design process and are always happy to advise you on the best direction to take*. Once your design is signed off, it takes a further 6-8 weeks for your piece to be made.

Custom
With Just As Much Love
It was through custom commissions that Bauble Magpie really got going and Emma is determined to keep them as a central part of the brand. It’s all about choice!
You select the item of jewellery you wish to make (subject to suitability) from our classic designs, including classic pendant, colour pops, sleek signet, dainty ring, our new ouroboros and star designs plus our incredible JessLocks. You also have a choice of metal, be it platinum or gold, both yellow and rose.
Rings are made to size with the right proportions for your finger. And for charms we offer several bails: standard, EnaBailer, or gemset EnaBailer in two styles.
If you prefer, go the whole hog you are very welcome to select an intaglio from our Custom section for the Pica Pica treatment, just let us know. Although Emma selects the intaglios she feels are befitting of Pica Pica she understands that it is a highly subjective matter because each intaglio has such personal talismanic qualities, so if you want to give an intaglio from within our Custom section the Pica Pica Bespoke service we totally get it and we’d be simply delighted to assist.
Ready To Wear
Already Made (With So Much Love)
Though the Bauble Magpie preference is to offer you the freedom to create your own unique piece of jewellery, every once in a while a seal comes along and we know exactly what we want to do with it. These become part of our small but perfectly formed Ready To Wear collection.
For new clients, we appreciate you may wish to start with a ready to wear piece before moving on to something more adventurous. Or maybe you’re buying a gift and enjoy the ease of an off the shelf delight. We also aim to extend our Ready To Wear collection to coincide with key dates in the jewellery calendar – Christmas and Valentine’s being the obvious big hitters.
As part of Emma’s commitment to continuous improvement, before launching a new or revised design, she likes to test the product and the market ahead of the launch. These pieces invariably find their way to our Ready To Wear section.
Rest assured we would never sell anything that did not meet our own obscenely high standards. So by buying a new or tweaked design you may well be snagging a bargain. Keep those peepers peeled people!
