Loyal & Audacious

A Georgian heraldic chalcedony in peak antique condition and imagery abound; set as our classic pendant in 14ct rose gold and a classic prong set diamond enabailer.

Phwoar!

Why we love it

Too much going on? Hell no!

Firstly the fabulous Latin motto ‘Fidus et Audax’ which translates as loyal and audacious. Or you could go with faithful and bold if you prefer. But we favour audacious here at BM HQ. We love to see some healthy audacity and find it to be a most excellent quality; in the right measure.

Up top on the crest we have a seriously muscular arm of some hottie holding aloft a sword, poised to strike with force. There’s a Sidney snake coiled around the sword. Not sure what that means but it’s an awe-inspiring image and the carving of the arm to depict the sinews and muscles is top hole.

The shield is most unusual. Usually we see some degree of geometry and balance achieved via a series of symbolic images. Not the case here. Instead we see a wolf passant emerging from a glade. A den perhaps? Has he got Little Red Riding Hood held captive we wonder?

This is the heraldic crest for the O’Callaghan Clan, also very cool if that’s your name or lineage.

The quality and the imagery on this unique intaglio are just very very good indeed. Plus it’s most uncommon.

Wear this piece of art as your reminder to be bloody audacious when circumstances demand, particularly when faithfully advocating for your chosen clan.

Flown away home.
