Fortune Favours The Brave

An exquisitely detailed heraldic carnelian intaglio with a kickass motto.

Generously set in 18ct yellow gold and finished with an equally badass rubover set black diamond enabailer (we can switch the bail on request, just leave a note with your order).

The seal has two crests, usually symbolising that the intaglio was carved at the point of marriage, the crests of two noble families both represented in this case an arm holding a pineapple and another holding a sword. So a traveller to exotic lands (Isla del Monte obvi) and a hero of the battlefield. Or maybe they’re just planning a healthy fruit salad instead of a wedding cake.

The shield will also be a combo of the imagery from the two households, we see stars and birds, fabulous.

Why we love it

Whilst the carving is super special, as per it was the motto that did for Emma and really she felt that perhaps this ought to be a keeper.

The Latin banner reads ‘Fortes Fortuna Juvat’ which translates as Fortune Favours the Brave. Something that Emma reminds herself of on the reg as she forges ahead with the biz, regularly soiling her drawers as she does so.

This is the perfect talisman for anybody who needs to remember to be brave though. And bravery can represent in so many areas of our lives. Courage in love. The requisite spine to stand up for what is right and to be a voice of dissent for that which is wrong. The grit required to endure our everyday hand of cards, caring for relatives, elderly or infirm. Getting out of bed to face another day when we are crippled by grief. Determining to live a full and happy life after surviving abuse.

Bravery is a much underrated quality in Emma’s opinion. It is hard to come back time and time again.

But the intaglio is quite right in our opinion, courage and bravery is generally well rewarded. So; imitate the action of the tiger; stiffen the sinews and summon up the blood. And wear this intaglio to remind you to be badass, bold and resilient,  knowing that ultimately you can and will be triumphant.

This life lark is bloody hard but you CAN do it!

Flown away home.
