Hear! Hear!

Rare turquoise paste Tassie

Imagery of a braying donkey, with text ‘Hear! Hear!’

Why we love it

Before we go any further let’s pause and drown in the drool-worthy colour of this rare seal from that Glaswegian rockstar gem-engraver, James Tassie. The turquoise of Caribbean seas, Himalayan poppies and the flash of a kingfisher as it flits along a river on a tranquil summer’s evening.

At odds with the image of a braying donkey, which instantly recalls jowly politicians, straining at their collars in a red-faced, sweat-infused cacophony of right honourable blather.

Some satirical fun poking at those who like the sound of their own voice. Who merrily keep talking, at increasing decibels, until they beat everyone into submission. Hear! Hear!

Wear this as a protective talisman against that self-important BS. To remind yourself to stay calm amid the chaos.

Simply smile. Nod. And let it all wash over you.
