A beautiful Victorian clear paste seal set as our closed back classic pendant in recycled 14ct yellow gold completed with our blue sapphire enabailer.
The use of a closed back setting makes the imagery on the seal bounce and reflect and dance, casting shadows and is just crazy beautiful if we do say so ourselves.
Why we love it
The bittersweet message of this piece is everything.
The imagery of a stem of roses in various stages of bud and bloom. How quickly the rose transitions from tightly furled bud, into a full showy bloom all colour and pomp and life. followed just as swiftly by the inevitable fade and wither and rot.
Just like our brief lives. We bloom today and tomorrow die.
Maybe bleak to some but we prefer to think of this seal as matter of fact, real.
Wear this talisman to remind you of just how fleeting our lives are. We are teetering on the bring of a Live Laugh Love cliché here. Heaven forfend! So instead let’s just remember to smell those roses and enjoy it for the absolutely ridiculous comedy farce that it is.
