For Love
A Victorian rock crystal intaglio set as our closed back pendant in recycled 14ctyellow gold and finished with a romantic pink sapphire enabailer.
Please see the photos, there is scuffing to the edges of the intaglio which you should be aware of. However, the imagery of this intaglio is so rare and sweet that Emma couldn’t resist a salvage job. We make no bones about that. The stone is perfectly robust and secure, it is just that it has seen a life prior to our TLC. And we find it absolutely charming!
In light of the wear we are offering this piece at a significantly reduced rate, which was always the plan. It is not the best business decision Emma has ever made frankly but we don’t care; some things are far too good to throw away and we feel certain that we have revived the intaglio such that it looks super and is sure to be loved and admired by many for years to come.
Why we love it
We see our friendly little love God Cupid, complete with ubiquitous bow and arrow. Up on top of a doric column sits a chubby heart which has been shot through with Cupid’s love arrow, hurrah for love we say!
The text arching around the image reads Pour L’amour (French: For Love).
And there we have it. A message to us all that however high a pedestal we place our hearts, or indeed wherever we hide our hearts for the purposes of protection, they can still be pierced by Cupid’s Arrow at whim.
None of us is safe from Love. And thank goodness for that we say!
