Victorian 9ct Pole Dancing Punch
An antique Victorian mechanical charm designed such that Mr Punch slides up, down and over the pole as his feet are moved.
Crafted in antique 9ct yellow gold, stamped ‘9’ on the pole.
Mr Punch is the English interpretation of Pulcinella, a classical character originating in commedia dell’arte of the 17th century and a stock figure in Neapolitan puppetry. His characteristic features typically include a humpback, a crooked nose, gangly legs, a potbelly, large cheeks, and a gigantic mouth.
