Along with that gloriously upbeat motto, ‘toujours gai’ or ‘ever gay’, surely a piece to make your spirit soar. Of course ‘gay’ meant something different to them there Victorians: happy, joyous, carefree. A little different to today’s interpretation. Or perhaps not.

Who can resist this riot of colour? Wear it loud and proud. A playful celebration of freedom of sexual expression. Yours or someone else’s. Or a symbol of acceptance and gratitude for the life choices we are (mostly) at liberty to enjoy these days.
