An antique clear paste seal featuring imagery of a traditional judge’s wig with overarching motto ‘Thereby Hangs A Tale’
This seal is gagging to be set in a closed back setting – any metal choice would be equally sublime but the closed back would provide further complexity and depth by mirroring the faces in the gold – it’d be absolutely epic
Why we love it
This is a puntastic number the combo of the Judge’s wig and the word ‘Hangs’ in the motto making a clear reference to the death penalty and so presumably whatever secrets the letter sealed by this impression in wax recounts amount to a tale so outrageous and so villainous they might be considered worthy of the death penalty – a joke of course – but surely you’d be intrigued to find out what the Christopher Biggins was contained in the accompanying missive….
