Ooooooh, how we love a good heraldic! Let’s break it down. Up top on the crest a hand holds a quill, suggesting this clan’s favoured dispute resolution vehicle is correspondence, not plunging an axe into someone’s head. Wow. Ahead of the times. The pen is mightier than the sword and all that.
Below said quill is the shield sporting a distinctly Scottish cross à la St Andrew; three crescent moons for hope and enlightenment; a wheatsheaf for bounty; and a castle turret for the love of their homestead.
But it’s the motto for us. Honesty all the way. Not the easiest option but always, in our opinion, the best.
Wear this as your talisman if you too have zero truck with BS and would always prefer to hear and/or deliver the truth. However hard it might be.
