He Drinks Blood For His Country Intaglio
A double sided banded agate intaglio.
On one side there is a shield with crossed arrows and another arrow pointing downwards (palewise). The arrow is said to be a weapon ‘destined for avengement and in heraldry they symbolise martial readiness.
The Latin motto ‘epp udit sanguinem pro patria’ (he drinks blood for his country) is in a banner.
To the reverse are initials ‘EMC’.
Why we love it
We don’t see many intaglios in banded agate and this one will surely make a kickass pendant and would work superbly with any metal choice
