There’s something about this point in the year that always catches me off guard. One minute we’re bundled up, embracing dark evenings, and the next we’re talking about Mother’s Day, the spring equinox, and that unmistakable sense that something new is stirring.

For me, motherhood and making have always been intertwined. I began Bauble Magpie early into my journey as a parent, but it was motherhood, particularly single motherhood, that sharpened my relationship with symbols. When time is tight, energy finite and responsibility non-negotiable, you learn quickly what matters. And what you want to hold close.
