Enamelled Virgin Mary & Child
An Austro-Hungarian forint dated 1848 featuring charming enamelled imagery of the Virgin Mary and Child flanked by angels.
To the reverse is imagery of the Virgin Mary and the baby Jesus at centre surrounded by rays of light and text ‘S. Maria mater dei patrona HVNG’ (Saint Maria Mother of God, Protector of Hungary).
