Is It You, Goodbye Wax Seal
An extremely rare antique seal depicting a man arriving home as Cupid departs, flying out of the first floor window; with overarching motto ‘Is It You, Goodbye’.
Hilarious
Why we love it
Because Emma is deeply cynical and has a very dry and dark sense of humour she finds this seal, which has resided in her personal collection for the last 4 years, to be very very funny indeed. But it is now time to let it go live its best life in jewellery form, to be loved and laughed about by a new custodian
Seals are subjective and the only thing that really matters is what they say to you. This gem, however, seems to be somewhat unequivocal. We know that Cupid represents love. And the imagery is of a man arriving back home with love simultaneously flying out of the first floor window. I mean……
As if the design itself wasn’t scathing and clear enough the final kick to the nuts is the motto ‘Is it you, Goodbye’
Nuff said methinks…..
