I Seek The Most Loyal – Wax Seal
An antique paste mimicking bloodstone featuring imagery of Cupid holding a sieve of hearts with hearts falling through the sieve.
The French text reads ‘Je Cherche Le Plus Fidelle’ which translates to ‘I seek the most loyal’
Why we love it
Those Georgians and Victorians certainly had a knack for imagery carrying a profound message
And Emma feels sure that this one will resonate
Our fave little Love God is engaged in a sifting exercise, a group of hearts passed through a sieve, several hearts passing through the sieve and tumbling towards the floor. Presumably Cupid will eventually be left with the biggest fattest heart. One which does not fall through the sieve holes because of its sheer size
And the motto, reflecting the universal quest of seeking the right kind of love; a big faithful heart, someone who will love you at your best and at your worst. Someone who stays. And that, my friends, is beautiful
