I Respond To Touch Wax Seal
An antique clear paste seal featuring imagery of a harp with overarching motto in French ‘Je Reponds A Qui Me Touche’ which translates as ‘I respond to touch’ or literally ‘I respond to those who touch me’.
Why we love it
Ahhhh a wonderful acknowledgment of being a feeling human……and in romantic French too, parfait!
Of course the motto references the image of the harp, which, when plucked provides dulcet tones
But the deeper metaphor here is clearly the notion that we are affected by those around us, by our nearest and dearest. And that we respond to their touch….or treatment. Presumably when treated with intentional care our response will be to provide angelic and heavenly sounds. Equally then, when strummed by the careless, a clanging cacophony may ensue.
Wear this as your talisman for being a sensitive sausage, who knows you are a product of your environment and the treatment you receive. And a reminder to ensure that you only allow the careful and caring to go anywhere near your harp!
