Busy lives. Busy, busy lives. Put your hand up if you’re frantic!

Once again antique seals show us that the centuries haven’t changed a great deal in the human experience.

This seal espouses taking the time to care for our loved ones. Or, more accurately, finding the time. Making the time.

In antiquity, pressed into wax to seal a letter, this motto tells us that the writer did not have the time to sit down to scribe their note. But they did so. They made the time. Because of their love.

No matter how busy we are we find the time, or we should find the time, to demonstrate our love.

These days that may no longer be by crafting an epistle, but by cooking a the dinner, listening to troubles or remembering to ask how an important meeting went. It could be any number of thoughtful acts little or large.

Lord knows we are all far too busy in this modern life, spinning those plates like a demented clown in the big top; but the devil truly is in the detail. And we must remember to find time for those we love.

We must prioritise showing our darlings that they are always in our thoughts. And we achieve this feat by making the time to perform acts of care & affection. Acts that are performed ‘from abundance of love, not of leisure’.

Wear this talisman as a reminder not to waste your energies on those fruitless, superficial things that bleed us dry. The job, the chores, the stress, the anxiety, the false friends.
