FAFO Thistle Wax Seal
An early Victorian paste wax seal mimicking bloodstone
Featuring imagery of thistle with overarching motto ‘Wha Dare Meddle Wi’ Me’ which is hard Scots for….well….umm in current English slang ‘Come and Have A Go If You Think You’re Hard Enough’ or the beloved US phrase ‘F*** Around And Find Out’
Literally ‘Who Dare Meddle With Me’
Why we love it
First off the thistle the detail on the seal is lovely with veining in the leaves and detail on the flower
Thistles are plants that you just cannot kill. They are seriously hardy and resilient. Chop ’em down and they come back stronger. Every Single Time. Guaranteed.
They grow happily through cracks in concrete, they thrive in barren wastelands. They are tough buggars.
Combined with the motto, an unashamed challenge. a forthright declaration. Go on, have a go, come at me full force and let’s just see how that works out for you….
Everything about this seal screams defiance, pride and strength – the fighting spirit
Wear this talisman as a reminder to yourself that you are a courageous fighter. A survivor. In control of your own destiny and that you don’t feel the need to shrink yourself to conform, thankyou very much
