Bound In Love
A late Victorian paste mimicking bloodstone seal.
Featuring imagery of two hearts bound together with rope and French text ‘Point d’Alexandre’. We believe this is a misspelling of ‘Pont d’Alexandre’, the bridge in Paris spanning the Siene connecting the Champs Elysees quarter with those of the Invalides and Eiffel Tower.
Why we love it
We love the imagery of the two hearts securely tied up in rope. Love is the strongest tie that binds!
The Pont d’Alexandre is one of the most emblematic bridges in Paris because of its architecture and location. This seal likely commemorates a betrothal on the bridge – tres romantique!
