Why we love it
The fede ring, with its distinctive design of two clasped hands, dates back to ancient Roman times where they were known as “mani in fede” or “hands in faith.” They were often exchanged as tokens of love, friendship, and betrothal, symbolising the bond between two individuals.
A gimmel (or gimmal) ring, is one with two or three hoops that fit together to form one complete ring. Historically often used as tokens of love or betrothal, the engaged couple would wear one hoop each and rejoin them on the brides hand to use as a wedding ring during the marriage ceremony.
