The butterfly symbolises the fleeting nature of life which dovetails with the Ancient Greek motto which we believe translates as ‘Immortal’. The butterfly is also a representation of the Goddess Psyche who symbolises the human soul, love, and the transformative journey of self-discovery through trials and challenges. In Greek mythology, Psyche is often depicted as a  butterfly, representing the soul. Her name translates to “soul” or “spirit,” and she embodies the essence of love and the human experience. Psyche’s story is primarily recounted in the Latin novel “Metamorphoses” by Apuleius, where she undergoes significant trials to reunite with her beloved, Cupid

On the body of the Amphora we can see a depiction of a classical scene which we believe is most likely to be The Three Graces. The Three Graces in Greek Mythology are Aglaia, Euphrosyne and Thalia representing beauty, charm and joy respectively
