Amethyst Thistle Intaglio

A diminutive amethyst intaglio with glorious facet back featuring imagery of a thistle.

Why we love it

Ahhhhhh, the humble thistle you guys

What does it symbolise?

Well. Two things

The first being the obvious, Bonnie Scotland, land of lochs, haggis, bagpipes, Rabbie Burns and some of the funniest, most humble, most brilliant people you are ever likely to meet. So, option 1 is as a talisman to honour Scottish heritage

What else? I hear you ask……

Let’s think about the thistle. Real talk: it is a glorified weed. It grows in concrete cracks. It flowers and triumphs in neglect. It brings beauty in barren wastelands. And it won’t hesitate to prick you should you attempt to grasp it. It is the actual Terminator of the plant world. You can not get rid of the buggars. They are tenacious, resilient, rebellious survivors that bloom unashamedly bright purple for that extra bit of final F-you attitude. Emma loves ’em!

This thistle is a symbol of a survivor. Someone who has been given the worst of environments, a cruddy hand of life cards and who has defied all expectation and science to bloom brightly regardless
