Our custom process starts with choosing the seal – whether it’s imagery, words, symbolism or a combination thereof, often our clients will see a piece that speaks to them on a fundamental level and know that it’s the one!
Our jewellery is perfect for representing loved ones near, far or departed (whether human or animal), significant life events, or serving as reminders of our own strengths, qualities and motivations. We have a fabulous selection of seals and intaglios available for custom jewellery in the Custom Intaglios & Seals section of our website – a veritable treasure trove of sentimental, whimsical, symbolic, powerful and meaningful pieces ready to make your talisman.
So, you’ve browed our seal library and chosen your favourite; next, it’s time to select the item of jewellery you wish to make (subject to suitability) from our classic designs, including Classic Pendant, Colour Pop, Sleek Signet, Dainty Ring, or Chonky Signet from the drop-down menu on the product page. We’ve handily suggested the options that we consider your seal to be most suitable for, however if you have something else in mind or would like to add gemstones to the piece itself, please do reach out to us and we’ll be happy to assist. Now you’ve chosen your preferred setting, you also have a choice of metal, be it platinum or gold, both yellow and rose.
If you’ve selected a ring, you’ll need to specify the size you require since they’re made to size with the right proportions for your finger. For pendants, we offer several bails: standard, EnaBailer, or gemset EnaBailer in two styles.
We understand that sometimes choosing what to do with your seal can be difficult, so it’s time for a shufty at our gallery of possible designs in our Design Inspo or Flown Away Home sections where you can feast your eyes on an abundance of our past creations. Once all your selections are made, the price of your design will be displayed, and you’ll be able to check out via our secure web page. Prices include free worldwide shipping but exclude customs duties/import taxes/tariffs which are the buyer’s responsibility. Lead times are approximately 8-10 weeks; however this can vary dependent on the time of year e.g. in the run up to Christmas when we’re at peak demand.
We’re incredibly proud of our custom service, which uses what we believe to be the optimal blend of traditional artisan skills and modern design techniques to achieve pieces of exceptional quality. Every piece we make is hand-crafted in Birmingham’s historic Jewellery Quarter by our expert team of experienced lapidaries, engravers, goldsmiths, setters and polishers, to showcase the true beauty and historical charm of the seal. All of our pieces are fully hallmarked by Birmingham Assay Office and include our Bauble Magpie unique maker’s mark plus any limited-edition hallmark available at the point of assay.
Once your completed piece has been received at BMHQ, it’s carefully Quality Control checked prior to being securely nestled in our branded house packaging ready for winging its way to you via DHL Express. Then all you have to do is wait for your talisman to drop through the letter box!
